Description

The gate piers to Boyne Engineering Works, dated 1858, are a pair of cast-iron structures located on the north side of Jack Lane in Hunslet, Leeds. Each pier has a square section and stands approximately 2.5 meters high, topped with a pedimented capping. The south face features a raised strapwork pattern consisting of circles and quatrefoils, along with raised lettering that reads: 'BOYNE/ ENGINE/ WORKS/ 1858'. These piers are included for their group value, relating to the history of the firm, which can be further explored at No. 121 Jack Lane.
