Description

No. 17 Cottage Road is a house built around 1840, constructed from coursed squared gritstone with a slate roof. The building has two storeys and three bays. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a plain fanlight and a wooden corniced surround. It has plate-glass sash windows throughout, with plain stone sills and lintels. The eaves are boxed, and there are raised corniced end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. This house is one of the larger properties that were built following the auction of land on Headingley Moor in 1831, which was held to cover the costs of enclosure.
