Pair of houses. c1840. Possibly by John Clark. Ashlar facade, brick side walls, slate roof. 2 storeys and basement, inserted attic, a mirror pair 6 windows wide. The central doorways approached by steps with wrought-iron balustrades set back in a wide recess supported on 2 unfluted, baseless Doric columns in antis, a basement passage doorway between. Sashes with glazing bars, those to ground floor of 5 x 3 panes, plain sills and lintels. End multiflue stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected. The block is shown on the 1850 Ordnance Survey map; it is conspicuously sited opposite the entrance to Rose Court, Headingley Lane (qv), and in a similar style.
