Description
This war memorial, located approximately 50 meters south of the Church of St John the Evangelist, was erected in 1924. It is made of Portland stone and features a square base with three steps. The memorial has a chamfered plinth that includes the inscription: 'TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE/ FROM MOOR ALLERTON/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918/ 1939-1945', along with a bronze plaque. The memorial is topped with a two-tier cross base and a tapering octagonal cross shaft, which supports a plain cross with inset panels.
