Description
Allerton Lodge is a house that has been converted into flats. It dates from the late 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. The building features an ashlar facade with coursed squared gritstone side walls and a slate roof, although the copings have been removed. It is two storeys high with attics and has a layout of 1:3:1 bays. The wide central bay is pedimented and slightly projects, featuring an elliptical light in the tympanum. The central doorway is framed by a moulded architrave with a cornice and a rectangular fanlight above. The windows are sashes without glazing bars and have plain stone sills. There is an added dormer window and end stacks. A 19th-century wing projects on the left side, made of ashlar with a full-height canted bay that has sashes. The right return of the building includes a lunette window that lights the attic storey. The interior has not been inspected.
