Description
This building, located adjacent to and southeast of No. 45 Upper Oldfield in Honley, is a cruck-framed dwelling that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with walling from the early 18th century. It features deeply coursed millstone grit and a stone slate roof, which has a later dormer on the southeast pitch. The structure is two storeys tall and consists of a single bay. On the ground floor, there is a four-light double chamfered stone mullioned window, while the upper floor has a window with oak lintels and mullions. The building also includes some early brickwork. Inside, there are two large full cruck trusses, one of which is partly obscured. The cruck blades meet at the apex with a ridge piece, and both upper and lower collars are lap jointed and pegged. The blades rest on stone footings.
