Description

Oldfield House is a house, part of a farm group, dating from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone, with an ashlar front facing south-east. The roof is covered in stone slate and features gable copings and two stone gable stacks. The house has two storeys on the south-east side and three storeys on the north-west side. The south-east elevation presents a symmetrical facade of three bays, with a moulded eaves cornice. The central doorway has a fanlight and a moulded canopy. Sash windows are found throughout. The north-west elevation has moulded stone brackets supporting the guttering. On the ground floor of the north-west elevation are two rear central doorways and a single four-light stone mullioned window on each side; the one to the right has a removed mullion. The first floor features a six-light and a four-light stone mullioned window. The second floor has a blocked loading door and three three-light stone mullioned windows.
