Description
Number 2 Throstle Nest is a late 18th-century terrace house that was originally two separate dwellings. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof, rising to two or three storeys.
On the southeast elevation, the ground floor has two central doorways, one of which is partially blocked, both framed with stone surrounds and large tie-stones. There is a recessed five-light stone mullioned window and a recessed two-light stone mullioned window, although the mullion of the latter has been removed. The first floor includes a recessed four-light stone mullioned window and another recessed five-light stone mullioned window. The second floor mirrors the first with similar window arrangements.
The northwest elevation features a ground floor two-light stone mullioned window with glazing bars, an intermediate level two-light stone mullioned window, and three two-light stone mullioned windows on the first floor, along with a blocked three-light stone mullioned window.
