Description
No. 5 Weirside is a detached house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, and it is part of a group of buildings. The house is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features quoins. It has a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables resting on moulded footstones, and stone brackets supporting the gutter.
The house has two storeys. On the west elevation, the ground floor includes a central doorway with a stone surround and tie-stones, flanked by two 3-light stone mullioned windows, also with tie-stones. The first floor features two 2-light stone mullioned windows and a central 4-light stone mullioned window.
On the rear elevation, the ground floor has a central three-panelled door with plain jambs and a moulded cornice, with a 3-light stone mullioned window on each side. The first floor consists of two 3-light stone mullioned windows and a central single light window with a stone surround.
