Description

No. 43 Spring Street is a mid-19th century former infant school. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a hipped slate roof with a modillioned eaves cornice and a band. It has rusticated quoins and three ranges of modern windows. The main entrance includes a door topped with a segmental pediment supported by giant brackets, along with a vermiculated triple keystone. To the east, there is a lower block that has a moulded eaves cornice and a pitched roof. This block also features a door with segment-headed rusticated voussoirs and a triple keystone, along with a fielded panel above that is inscribed "Infant School."
