Description
The Knowle is a mid-19th century building located on Edgerton Road, featuring hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a pitched fishscale slate roof. It stands two storeys tall with attics and has four window ranges; the outer two project slightly forward and are topped with bargeboarded gables. The ground floor includes canted bays with chamfered sashes, moulded cornices, and crenellated parapets. Each first floor has a chamfered sash with a hoodmould, and there are small chamfered sashes in the gable ends. The inner two bays also break forward slightly and are topped with coped gables on cut kneelers, featuring stone finials and a range of chamfered mullion-and-transom crosses with hoodmoulds.
