Description
Fair Hill Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the late 18th century, with the barn being a later addition. They are constructed in one range using hammer-dressed stone, featuring quoins and a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables and moulded footstones. The building has two stacks with water tabling and stands three storeys tall.
On the south elevation, the ground floor includes a recessed four-light stone mullioned window, which retains only the central mullion, and a recessed two-light stone mullioned window with the mullion removed. The first floor has a similar arrangement with a recessed four-light stone mullioned window (only the central mullion remaining) and a recessed two-light stone mullioned window (mullion removed). The second floor features a recessed five-light stone mullioned window (one mullion removed) and a recessed two-light stone mullioned window (one mullion removed).
The barn has a large doorway with a semi-circular arched head and quoins, along with a smaller doorway to the left that also features large quoins. The east gable of the house includes a lean-to extension that is in keeping with the overall design. The north elevation has more recent outbuildings.
