Offices and Workshop Range at Westwood Mills

The Offices and Workshop Range at Westwood Mills is an early 19th-century building that has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed from coursed hammer-dressed gritstone, although the stone roof slates have largely been removed. The building is two storeys high and originally had three bays, with the remains of a fourth bay at the north end. Currently, all openings are blocked.

On the east elevation, the second entrance bay features a plain stone surround with tie-stone jambs. There are 2- and 3-light windows with flat-faced mullions, although the left ground floor window has been removed. The fourth bay exists as a screen wall with a blocked 2-light window on the ground floor.

The west elevation, facing the mill yard, has a blocked doorway and window on the ground floor. The south elevation includes a segmental arch with stone voussoirs, which is blocked by brickwork just above ground level on the right, along with a long tie-stone above it. The upper window level and the gable are rendered.

The north elevation features gabled rubble walling with remnants of plaster, indicating it was an internal wall that was altered when a 20th-century electricity sub-station was added. The interior has not been inspected.
