Description

Stables located to the east of Numbers 17 and 19 on Kirkgate in Hanging Heaton. These stables date from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and feature stone slate roofs. The building is arranged in an L-plan and is a single storey. The east range has a south front that includes a large blocked cart entrance on the left, followed by another blocked doorway and a casement window, with additional stable doorways further along. The south range has a west front that features a stable doorway on the left, flanked by single casements, and another opening on the right. The stables are included for their group value.
