Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 5 metres to the northeast of Lower Beck Farmhouse, is a coach-house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed hammer-dressed stone and features a corrugated asbestos roof. The building stands two storeys high and has five first-floor windows. The openings are framed with plain stone surrounds.
The central feature is an elliptical carriage arch with a bonded surround and keystone, which includes a double board door and a boarded fanlight. On either side of the arch, there is a window and a stable door leading outside, with the left door having been widened to serve as a garage door. Above, there are five additional windows. The building has plain gutter brackets and a hipped roof. The first-floor room on the left was once heated, but the chimney stack has been removed. This outbuilding is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
