Description
The Glebe House is a vicarage that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century but incorporates features from the 17th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone and has a stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with an additional bay added to the left side.
There are steps leading up to a central 20th-century glazed door, which is set in a renewed surround with quoined, double-chamfered edges and a double-cusped lintel, likely the head of a former window. On either side of the door are five-light double-chamfered mullion windows, featuring arched lights and sunk spandrels. The first floor has a single-light window above the door, flanked by two two-light windows, all with plain stone surrounds and flat-faced mullions. A shaped kneeler is present on the left side, along with end stacks.
The left bay features a raised pilaster and quoins, suggesting the existence of a former building to the left. It has a five-light window with arched lights and a two-light window with a raised cill above it, as well as a rendered verge and an end stack to the left.
At the rear, there is a notable 18th-century door architrave, with a two-light double-chamfered mullion window to the left on the first floor; other openings at the rear date from the 19th century. The right side of the building has a 20th-century doorway similar to the front, featuring a triple-cusped lintel flanked by arched lights and a hollow-moulded window surround above.
