Description

The Triangle is a public house, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof. The building is three storeys high with an attic, and has five bays by two. It features quoins. The windows have plain stone surrounds, and are mullioned with flat faces. The facade is arranged as follows: bay 1 has a door flanked by single-light windows, with a further single-light window above and a taking-in door above that; bay 2 has a two-light window to each floor; bay 3 features a main entrance with a 20th-century wood surround and cornice, and a two-light window above each floor; bay 4 has a single-light window to each floor; and bay 5 has a door flanked by single-light windows, surmounted by two-light windows on each floor. The building includes plain gutter brackets. There are three broad ridge stacks, and a later brick eaves stack to bay 4. The right return has a First World War Memorial in aedicule form to the centre of the ground floor, with keyed Venetian windows on either side on each floor, and a keyed Diocletian window in the attic.
