Description

Dean Mews is a carriage house and cottage with an entrance to a courtyard, along with a new garage and house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with two bays on one side and three on the other.

The courtyard front has openings with plain stone surrounds, and the windows have projecting sills and 20th-century casements. On the left side, there is a keyed segmental arch leading to the garage, with a window next to it and a 20th-century door further along; above are two windows. The right side features a tall segmental arch on the right with a two-light window above it, and to the left of this arch, there are a two-light window and a one-light window on each floor. Both ranges have paired gutter brackets off the table, and there is a stack at the left end of the left range.

At the rear of the right range, an archway is flanked by rusticated pilasters, with imposts and voussoirs. This building is part of a courtyard development and is included for its group value.
