Description

Denton House, now two separate residences, dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. The house is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. It is three stories high and features rusticated quoins and an eaves cornice. The main front has three bays, with the right-hand bay projecting forward beneath a hipped roof. The first two bays have windows with plain stone surrounds. The center bay contains a doorway with an architrave, consoles, and a cornice. The projecting bay features a semi-octagonal design with a window on each of its three sides. All windows retain small panes of glass and have upper casements. The left-hand return wall mirrors the front, also with a hipped roof. The building has three chimney stacks.
