Description

SOWERBY BRIDGE DEAN LANE SE 0422 & SE 0522 (west side, off), 15/45 Sowerby Gate piers to back yard 15.11.66 at Field House GV II Gate piers. Probably mid C19.. Ashlar. Each pier has a plinth with lion's head on each side and a panelled shaft with oriental motifs supporting a shaped, corniced, pedestal and block with decoration on each side of a head flanked by entwined snakes, the whole surmounted by a finial on shaped base.
