Description
The archway and walls to the former Lion Brewery, built in the mid-19th century, are made of hammer-dressed stone with stone walls topped by ashlar copings. The large central gateway features a low pointed arch, a cornice, and a blocking course that is topped by a statue of a reclining lion. On either side of the gateway, there are lower embattled walls that enclose doorways, each with a similar archway that rises from skewbacks. Although the brewery itself has been removed, the archway remains in an isolated rural setting, contributing to the landscape's value.
