Description

This guide post, likely dating from the mid-18th century, is a monolithic stone structure with four dressed faces. The south face is inscribed with the words "MIDGLEY" accompanied by a hand pointing to the right, and "HEBDEN BRIDGE" with a hand pointing to the left. It is located 20 meters to the west of Rough Bottom and marks a former packhorse road that connected Heptonstall to Halifax.
