Description

The steps and entrance archway to the street leading to the Birchcliffe Centre in Hebden Bridge were built in 1898. The structure features pitch-faced retaining walls with ashlar dressings. The entrance has a semi-circular arch supported by moulded voussoirs and imposts, with raised rusticated quoins on either side. At the top of the archway, there is a shaped gable inscribed with "ANNO DOMINI 1898." The site also includes cast iron gates.
