Description

This is a barn from the mid-18th century, located 10 meters north of a stone stile on Saddleworth Road in Barkisland. It is constructed from thin coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and has an L-shaped design. The north side features a single aisle with a tall cart entry that is set back from the side. The left-hand return wall has quoins at the wide gable and includes triangular ventilators. The rear of the barn has a mistal doorway with a chamfered surround, which is blocked, as well as a later outshut and an altered cart entry. The barn is listed for its group value only.
