Description
This is a barn located 15 meters north of number 75 Stainland Road, dating from the early 18th century but rebuilt from an earlier double aisled barn that may date back to the early 17th century. The barn is constructed of thin coursed rubble with dressed quoins and features a stone slate roof. The main elevation faces the lane and includes two cart entries with square lintels and chamfered surrounds. The taller entry is supported by corbelled jambs, and there are two blocked mistal doorways in the center, also with chamfered surrounds. The right-hand return wall has a two-light chamfered mullioned window at the apex, which faces number 75 Stainland Road.
Inside, the barn retains four bays of post-and-truss construction set on stylobates, featuring large curved braces connecting the tie-beams and arcade plate. The king posts and principals have been altered.
