Description

The west range of Popples Almshouses, consisting of numbers 4 to 9, was built in 1840 and is designed in a style reminiscent of the 17th century. This single-storey structure is made of stone and features a stone roof. It has gables at both ends and in the center, which includes the date, an inscription, and a finial. The windows are adorned with label-mouldings, and there are arched doorways. A decorative railing surrounds the forecourt, which has gates to the north. Numbers 1 to 9 of Popples Almshouses are recognized as a group.
