Description

This is a 3-bay barn dating from the mid-18th century, located west of Lower Birks. The barn is constructed of dressed rubble with a stone slate roof. It features a segmental arched cart entry with monolithic jambs and tie-stones. A cottage has been added to the northern end, incorporating a doorway with monolithic jambs and a chamfered surround, along with a flat-faced mullioned window of two wide lights. The northern face of the cottage is quoined, featuring a gable stack. The barn is listed for its group value.
