Description

Number 2 Northgate is a house built in the mid-19th century. It has a double-pile single cell plan and is constructed from thin coursed hammer-dressed stone, topped with a stone slate roof featuring a coped gable and kneelers. The south front showcases large two-light flat faced mullioned sash windows on both the ground and first floors, complete with gutter brackets. On the right-hand return wall, there is a re-used three-centred doorway with spandrels and chamfered jambs, which bears the date '1626' on the lintel. This building is a rebuild of the service end of Holywell Green Farm.
