ELLAND NORTHGATE, OFF STAINLAND ROAD No. 2

House. Mid C19. Double-pile single cell plan. Thin coursed hammer-dressed stone, stone slate roof with coped gable with kneelers. South front has large 2-light flat faced mullioned sash windows to ground and first floor with gutter brackets. Right hand return wall has re-used three centred doorway with spandrels and chamfered jambs and the date '1626' on the lintel. This is a rebuild of the service-end of Holywell Green Farm (q.v.).
