Description

This barn, located 20 meters north of Upper Shaw, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of large dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a semi-circular arched cart entry with chamfered surrounds and an inner portal. On either side of the entry, there are mistal doorways that also have chamfered surrounds. The right-hand return wall includes chamfered rectangular ventilators. The barn is designed with a 4-bay layout and has a king block roof that is braced to the ridge. Additionally, there is a circular owl hole at the apex of the structure.
