Description

The wall and gateway attached to the northeast of Bowers is dated 1618. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings. The design features Gothic coping and a Tudor arched gateway that includes sunken spandrels adorned with shields, moulded jambs, and a pediment with an open tympanum topped by finials, which may date from the 19th century. The lintel bears the inscription "1618 IRIB" IR SR.
