Description
Postern Gate and Walls is a structure located on Black Lion Hill. The walls and gateway are of medieval origin and were re-erected in 1879. They are constructed from ironstone and feature a double chamfered plinth. The wall includes an off-centre gateway flanked by buttresses, which support a triple pointed arch. The gateway has a plank door and is topped with a tall gable that has ashlar coping and moulded kneelers. To the left of the gateway, there is an 8-meter stretch of wall with double chamfered coping, while to the right, there is a similar 10-meter wall that has an iron gateway inserted.
