Description

Nos 37 and 39 Gold Street is an ornate stucco-fronted building dating from around 1908. It features plate glass shop windows and has two upper storeys topped with a modillion cornice and a pediment supported by four Roman Ionic pilasters. The roof is concealed by a parapet. The building has three windows; the first floor has glazing bars with eared architrave surrounds, while the second floor showcases circular windows with radiating glazing bars set in cartouches. This design is considered unusual. Nos 37 to 43 (odd) form a group.
