Description

The Black Lion Inn, located on Black Lion Hill, is a building dating from the 17th century or earlier. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a steeply pitched roof covered with Welsh slate. The inn has two storeys, with casement windows on the ground floor and three flush 19th-century sash windows on the first floor. There is a carriageway on the right side of the building, and it has a long back wing. The Black Lion Inn, along with Nos 1 to 3, forms a group with St Peter's Church and Nos 33 to 43 and 37A Mare Fair.
