Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century cottages located on Field Lane in Brighouse. They were formerly listed under a different address, Holly Bank Road. The cottages are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The front facade is two storeys and two bays wide. Each bay features a doorway with monolithic jambs and a three-light flat-faced mullioned window. Above this is a slightly projecting sill with a larger five-light window. Gutter brackets are present, along with two stacks rising from the ridge. The rear elevation has two five-light windows on the first floor. The gables show evidence of a former taking-in door, suggesting a connection to textile manufacture.
