Description
Nos. 1 and 1A on Church Street in Rastrick are two houses that were formerly known as the Thornhill Arms. They date from the 19th century and are constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features a three-bay front. The outer bays have three-light flat faced mullioned windows set within semi-circular arched recesses. The central bay contains a doorway with monolithic jambs and a cornice, along with a two-light mullioned window to the left. On the first floor, there are three large windows that have margin lights and arch-headed glazing. A mark of the former inn sign is still visible. The left-hand return wall has a two-light window with a large Venetian window above it. The building is topped with a cornice and a hipped roof, and it has two stacks on the outer walls.
