Description

This cottage, attached to the southeast end of Fairlady Farmhouse, dates back to 1702, as indicated by the initials and date "T S 1702." It is built from hammer-dressed stone with rough-dressed quoins and features a stone slate roof. The cottage is a single-cell structure with a notable 4-light double-chamfered mullioned window, along with a 3-light window above it that is missing its mullions. The doorway on the right side has monolithic jambs and a basket-arched lintel that also bears the date, surrounded by a chamfered edge. Originally, there was likely a front gable before the construction of the current 19th-century house to the left, which is not of interest. At that time, the cottage was re-roofed to align with the farmhouse. There is a single stack on the left side of the building.

Inside, the cottage features chamfered spine beams and a domed bee-hive oven with a cantilevered flue set above it.
