Description

This is a late 17th-century house located on Victoria Street in Bingley, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with dressed quoins on the right side, and has a stone slate roof. It follows a two-cell plan. The first cell features a doorway with tie-stone jambs and a cyma-moulded surround that extends to create a false ogee lintel. Above the doorway is a date plaque, bearing a false date of 1601 in cement, surmounted by an arched light with sunken spandrels. To the right of the doorway is a five-light double-chamfered mullioned window, with a smaller four-light mullioned window above it. The second cell has a garage door inserted, which is not in keeping with the existing window above. The right side features a coped gable with kneelers. A stack is located on the left gable, at the junction with the adjacent building at number 8.
