Description
Number 3 Burnwells is a building dated 1791, originally constructed as a pair of three-storey back-to-back tenements. It is an early example of this type of dwelling. The building is made of sandstone "brick" with flush quoins and features a stone slate roof topped with corniced chimneys. The façade includes three-light square mullion windows and smaller single-light windows, all set in squared surrounds. The doorways have plain squared jambs. The gable end of Number 1 also displays a similar three-light window.
