Description

This is a late 18th century building composed of an irregular L-shaped block. Number 3, Carr Lane, is a two-storey structure built from irregular-sized sandstone "bricks" with large quoins. It has a stone slate roof and features a blocked round-headed window on its outer side. The main front displays two two-light, framed, square mullioned windows. A built-out entrance bay is present. The rear elevation contains two, three, and four-light square mullioned windows. Originally, the building extended further south. Number 1, a “low house” extension at a right angle towards the road, adjoins the main block. It exhibits a plain doorway and stone-framed windows.
