Description
Low Royd is a plain two-storey house dating from around 1800, which includes an attached single-storey cottage that was formerly a lodge to Royds Hall. The building is constructed from irregularly coursed sandstone "brick" and features large flush quoins. It has a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys. A two-storey link to the former lodge was added around 1840 to 1850, which has bracketed flat eaves. The house has two-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds and square jamb doorways. The former lodge has a hipped stone slate roof and three-light square mullion windows on the rear elevation.
