Description

The coach house located to the north of Whitteron House is a rebuild of an earlier structure, possibly from the 18th century, and was built around the same time as the mid-19th century enlargement of the house. It is situated at the back of the forecourt, facing the road. The building is constructed from sandstone "brick" with irregular coursing and features large quoins at the lower part. It has a Dutch gable with kneelers and a saddlestone, topped by a cast iron reclining lion on scroll supports. There is a blocked, and likely reset, round-headed window of 18th-century style in the gable above the coach house door.
