Description

A pair of cottages with shops dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed millstone grit, with a stone slate roof. They are three storeys high, each with a single bay. Each cottage has a four-panel door set within a plain stone surround, one on the left and one on the right. The windows are mullioned, with flat stone surrounds and slightly projecting cills. The ground floor has two two-light windows, the first floor a six-light window, and the second floor a five-light window, with a taking-in door to the left. A continuous cill band runs across the ground and first floors. An iron sundial is positioned above the ground-floor window of number 25. Plain gutter brackets are present and a stack is located at the left end of each cottage.
