Description
Nos 13 and 15 on Main Street are a pair of early 19th-century cottages with shops, built from coursed millstone grit and topped with a stone slate roof. They are designed as a mirror-image pair, each standing three storeys high and featuring one bay. The cottages have 20th-century half-glazed doors set in plain stone surrounds on the left and right, with the door for No 13 having a second, lower, recessed lintel. The flat-faced mullioned windows are in flush stone surrounds with projecting cills. Each cottage has a large 20th-century shop window on the ground floor, a three-light window on the first floor, and a two-light window on the second floor. Moulded gutter brackets and a central stack complete the design.
