Description
41 Little Horton Green, also known as Faith Sawrey's House, is a house and barn built under one roof in 1755. The building is two storeys high and constructed from thin coursed sandstone "brick" with flush ashlar quoins. It features a stone slate roof with coping stones on the gable ends and prominent shaped kneelers.
The front of the house is symmetrical with three bays, each having four light square mullion windows on both floors set in squared surrounds. There are two light square mullion windows in the centre above a squared jamb doorway that contains a six-panel door. Below the sill of the central first-floor window, there is a round-headed carved panel displaying a coat of arms, the monogram "F S", and the date.
To the side, there is a single-storey outshut with a three-light square mullioned window. The rear elevation is similar to the front but includes a transomed stair light, with the upper light featuring small, thickly leaded panes. The barn section on the left side has a segmental voussoir archway with a small round-headed window above.
