Description
Horton Moravian Church is a small, well-designed chapel built in 1838 for the Horton Moravian Community. It is a simple rectangular structure made of sandstone "brick" with ashlar dressings. The front facing the road features a crow stepped gable with large kneelers and a bellcot topped with a finial. The building has inset plain stepped buttresses and a pointed arch doorway, with a narrow window above that has an oriel bracket sill and a drip mould. There is a tiny attic light located below the bellcot. The sides of the chapel are adorned with three ashlar dressed lancet windows, and the eaves of the slate roof are supported by miniature corbels.
