Description
The Church of All Saints, built in 1864, is a notable example of late 13th century Decorated Gothic architecture, designed by architect Thomas Healy and completed after his death by his sons T H and F Healy. It is recognized as the finest and most richly detailed church from this period in Bradford. The church features high-quality sandstone masonry, a tall nave, shallow aisles, an apsidal east end, transepts, and a north porch. A prominent feature of the church is its impressive tower, which is a landmark in Bradford, located next to the south transept. The tower has inset buttresses, four stages, and an open twin light shafted bell stage, topped with a trefoil panelled parapet and corner pinnacles. The octagonal stone spire is lofty and includes elongated lucarnes. The buttressed clerestory is adorned with spherical triangle windows and trefoil tracing. Additionally, the graceful 3-light apse windows are decorated with applied crocketed gables, and there is a trefoil traceried rose window in the west end gable.
