Description

The gate piers at the entrance to the site of Horton Hall date from the late 18th century and are elegantly proportioned. They are made of finely wrought sandstone ashlar. The piers feature a plinth and chamfered rustication on the shafts, with a plain ashlar band below the top stage, which is adorned with a draped festoon. The piers are capped with a pediment.
