Description
This is a barn located 10 metres north of the Old Rectory, dated 1806 and marked with the initials "ICM". It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a symmetrical facade with a segmental-arched cart entry that includes skewbacks, an expressed keystone, and composite jambs. Above the entry, there is a lunette with a date plaque. The facade also has two 2-over-2 rectangular ventilators with arched heads, and there are doorways on either side with composite jambs and punch-dressed lintels. Gutter brackets are present as well. The left-hand return wall displays a carved stone decorated with a cross, which is a re-used medieval grave-slab. Inside, the barn has a five-bay layout with a fish-bone king-post roof featuring curved angle struts. Nearby is St. Peter's Church.
