Description

Number 15 is a mid-to-late 19th-century building that originally served as a school and school house, and is now used as business premises. Constructed from hammer-dressed stone with ashlar dressings, it has a Welsh slate roof. The building is single-storey with an attic, and is designed in the Gothic style, comprising five bays arranged in an ordered but asymmetrical layout. The end bays project and are gabled; the left-hand bay, which was originally the house, has a canted bay window to the attic floor, while the right-hand bay features a large four-light window with Decorated tracery incorporating circles and trefoils. A lower gabled porch adjoins the right wing, to the left of which is a flat-roofed projection with two groups of three cusped lights. This section has a castellated parapet. To the left of the entrance is a group of four cusped lights.

A low stone wall borders the front area, returning to the building. Two pairs of square ashlar gate piers, with gabled caps, mark the entrance, and are accompanied by iron railings with bars and dog-bars, all topped with fleur-de-lis finials.
