Description
No. 8 Claremont Place is a house, now used as offices, built around 1840 with later 19th-century alterations. The structure is made of brick, featuring ashlar and stucco dressings, and has a hipped slate roof with two brick ridge stacks. It has a plinth, a first-floor band, and deep wooden eaves with modillions. The centre of the building is recessed and flanked by two shallow projecting bays, each containing a window on both floors. The house is two storeys high and has a three-window range of plain sash windows with brick flat arches. The central doorcase is adorned with Doric columns and a cornice, featuring a four-panel door and an overlight. On either side of the door, there is a plain sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
